There are essential oils EVERYWHERE! Costco, Bed Bath and Beyond, The Dollar Store.....unfortunately, they are not all created equally and this industry is not a highly regulated one. Due to the lack of regulation, many companies have jumped on the bandwagon to create their own essential oils to capitalize on the hype. The unfortunate truth is that quality lacks on the shelves and labels can be incredibly misleading. Just because an essential is labeled 100% pure, does not make it so.
Though it may seem like essential oils have become trendy over the last 5-10 years, the truth is that they have been used for thousands of years. Yes, you read me correctly, THOUSANDS of years! It is only in recent years, through scientific studies and research, we are understanding how essentials oils work in and on our bodies. Did you know that one drop of dōTERRA essential oil can be absorbed into the bloodstream within 30 seconds and serve every cell in your body within 30 minutes? Mind boggling isn't it? When the plants are grown in the best environment, when the essential oils are extracted at the appropriate time, and when the oils are run through rigorous testing to ensure purity, essential oils can serve our well-being in amazing ways.
If you have tried essential oils and have not received a positive experience, I encourage you to turn to high quality oils, such as dōTERRA, and lean on a wellness advocate for guidance and support. I promise, you are doing yourself a disservice by not incorporating these beautiful tools into your wellness routine for natural support.
So, are essential oils merely a trend that will be behind us when the next best "natural concoction" comes along? ABSOLUTELY NOT! The small players in the essential oil industry will flunk out because they lack quality and transparency, and the big players (insert dōTERRA :)) that continue to invest in the research, source sustainably and responsibly, and offer their customers the very best essential oils available, will continue to share their gifts of the earth for years and years to come. That, I am sure of.
